Miguel Cabrera

19 March 2009

He will increase the home runs hit this year to 10 or 12, opposed to the eight last year.

Miguel Cabrera – When our 08 season went to hell, Cabrera brought us 37 Home Runs, 127 Runs Batted In, a .537 Slg. and a .292 Avg. He did play 160 games that season. If the Tigers can go over .500 after forty games this season and allow Brandon Inge to fulfill his wish to play almost the 162 games he plays, Mr. Cabrera won’t hit the same numbers of homers and RBI’s this season, due to which, we won’t see him play 160 games but more like 140 or a little less. Otherwise, he will be our go-to guy.

This list includes baseball greats such as Derek Jeter, Miguel Cabrera, Grady Sizemore, Carlos Zambrano, Alex Rodriguez, Ichiro Suzuki, and many more stars to display their talents to the world.  Are you excited?  Are you ready to root for your country and hope they bring home they big cheese?  Are you really that excited?  I say, who cares.  The World Baseball Classic means nothing.  I mean, what is the point of it.  Sure, it is a way for us to see talent around other countries and we can see who will be the next Albert Pujols.  But why do we need this.  In the United States, our nation could care less if we win or lose, even though it is embarrassing for us to lose after it is called "America's Pastime."  United States has many more important things going on in the sports world besides the WBC.  This might mean a lot to other neighboring nations because it is a way for showing their pride and a way of showing their talent to the world.  They do not have the World Series like the United States.  This is their World Series and their gold medal in the Olympics.  Japan went crazy when they won the first WBC title.  It was an honor for them to win it and they really appreciated what they have accomplished.  That will not be the same in the United States.

And that should be a scary thing for not just teams in the AL Central, but for the entire league. Miguel Cabrera went 5-6 with 6 RBI's while Matt Joyce was just a double away from a cycle going

oes it matter that the Tigers have huge questions with their pitching?

The offseason additions of Miguel Cabrera and Edgar Renteria might given Detroit a lineup even more potent than that of the Yankees from the last several years. Getting out of Florida and into a lineup with the protection that he will have in Detroit, Cabrera will probably put up offensive numbers second only to Alex Rodriguez and could contend for a triple crown this year. As a whole, look for the Tigers to top 1000 runs.
